CASA Staff

Leading PlainsWest CASA since 2018, Krista is passionate about giving foster children a voice and helping them find the support they deserve. When she’s not guiding the organization’s mission locally, she’s serving on the Nebraska State CASA Board and working on multiple CASA committees. Krista’s leadership is driven by her unwavering belief that every child deserves a bright future, and she works tirelessly to make that happen—one foster child at a time!

If Krista could have any superpower, it would be invisibility—so she could help without being seen.

Her favorite quote is, "Every kid is one caring adult away from being a success story." – Josh Sipp.

The best part of Krista’s job? Getting to know each child and receiving hugs or high-fives from them! 🤗 Her passion for making a difference in the lives of foster children fuels her work every day.

Since March 2024, Kelly Faessler has been the Volunteer Coordinator at PlainsWest CASA, where she’s dedicated to recruiting, supporting, and empowering volunteers who make a difference in the lives of foster children. With a passion for service and community, Kelly works tirelessly to ensure that every volunteer has the tools and resources they need to succeed in their important roles. She’s excited to continue building a strong network of advocates for kids in need!

If Kelly could have any superpower, it would be the ability to heal wounded hearts with hugs. I believe that something as simple as a hug can turn a bad day around, so why not add a little magic and make those hugs healing too?

Truly May isn’t just your average office dog—she’s better! She loves to help foster children who visit the PlainsWest CASA office. Truly’s favorite thing is when children read to her, and she’s always ready to offer extra snuggles when they need a little emotional support. If a nap is in order, she’ll happily curl up and keep them company.

When she’s not comforting kids, Truly loves to play tic-tac-toe, race around, and show off her many tricks! If Truly could have any superpower, it would be the ability to talk to children, so she could offer even more support and encouragement. Truly is truly a golden retriever with a heart of gold, making every child feel special and loved.
